EARTH | Papercrete Kitchen

This permanent structure will replace the old outdoor kitchen under the ramada. The base is made of earthbags. The vault portion is buttressed by Sarah’s Closet to the left and a new banco (bench) on the right.

Wet papercrete mix has been applied to the armature. Strip anchors for solar electrical outlets and lights are visible. Romex is buried in the papercrete.

Final color coat on Kitchen and Sarah’s Closet. Paper adobe wall remains unplastered for the time being. This material seems wonderfully impervious to rain, but will be plastered over in the future.
