EARTH | Paper Adobe (Fiberous Adobe)

The third wall of “Sarah’s Closet” (See https://marciagibbons.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/earth-starting-sarahs-closet/) is not structural, so I decided to try some Paper Adobe (Fi-dobe) for its good insulation value.

After soaking shredded paper over night, mix with clay subsoil. (Endless supplies of shredded paper everywhere!)

Paper adobe mix is packed between loose concrete blocks, which serve as the form. Rebar was already put in place when the earthbag structural walls were built.

After removing concrete block form, the Fi-dobe wall is ready for plaster.
